If you are upgrading to a Direct Connection Service with Community WiFi, you will need to provide your own router for your apartment. The router minimum requirements should have these specifications:
Supports WiFi 5 (802.11ac) or WiFi 6 (802.11ax)
Supports speeds up to 1 GIG
WPA-2 Security
Additional Notes:
To connect your router, we'll need to authorize your in-room access point. Please contact customer support by clicking here to upgrade your service and activate your router.
Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to set up the Router.
If you are having issues with the connection to your router, you will need to work with the Manufacturer on any questions or issues you may have in getting connected to the internet. We are not able to help you with the setup.
You will need to physically connect your Router to the Community WiFi Network. You will need a CAT6 cable to connect to your Router’s WAN port and then connect to the Pass-Through Port on your Apartment’s WiFi Unit.
We highly recommend that you connect to the 5Ghz SSID on your Router. The 5Ghz will provide a better signal than the 2.4Ghz in the Apartments due to the amount of interference on the 2.4Ghz frequency
